Who is Animal Protection Austria?
Tierschutz Austria is not only the largest but also the oldest animal shelter in the country. Based in the spacious grounds of the Vösendorf Animal Shelter near Vienna, the organization has been committed to helping animals in need for over 170 years. Every year, several thousand animals—dogs, cats, small animals, birds, exotic animals, and even farm animals—find a temporary home, medical care, and loving support here.
What distinguishes Tierschutz Austria is its holistic approach: in addition to care and placement, the focus is also on awareness, educational work, commitment to animal welfare policy, and sustainable projects.
